Lita Rossana Ford (also commonly referred to by the name Lita Ford) is an British born American singer on guitar who took the lead of The Runaways a female hard rock band in the 70s. They were noticed for their rebellious lyrics and punk-inspired fashion. The band did not enjoy an enormous following within the United States. However, their popularity grew overseas and especially in Japan. Ford started a metal solo career when the group broke up in 1979. After taking vocal lessons she debuted her own solo album, called 'Out for Blood'. This was followed by the release of 'Dancin"On The Edge'. Ford vanished for some time from the scene as the two albums failed to receive the attention they deserved. Her biggest hit, 'Lita' was released in the year 1989. Kiss Me Deadly (single) and Close My Eyes Forever (ballad) were her biggest songs. However, her popularity was not long-lasting and she vanished from the industry for several years. Her re-emergence was with the releases of "Black" from 1995 and "Wicked Wonderland", almost 15 years following. The album she released was Time Capsule in 2016. The singer was honored with The Certified Guitar Legend Award by Guitar Player Magazine.
